Hello everyone! I hope all my American friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration this week. We had a delightful visit with family. It was so great to see everyone and spend some time with them! You know now that Christmas will be here before we know it -- less than 4 weeks. Yikes!!!
It's time as well for a brand new Saturday Sketch Challenge from the Operators at Stamping 411! The first time I saw this sketch, that round circle spoke "full moon" to me. So, here is Dasher, standing proud underneath a full moon! The color scheme for this card came from the absolutely delicious Not Quite Navy Ribbon that is included in the Elementary Ribbon Originals pack. This 7/8" wide Taffeta Ribbon is just beautiful in real life! The cardstock colors include Not Quite Navy, Basic Black and Brushed Silver. I embossed Layer Two with the Big Shot and the Petals-a-Plenty Impressions Folder and then spritzed it with some shimmer spray (can you see the sparkle? Enlarge the photo to see the detail better -- it's amazing in real life). I made the shimmer spray by placing 2 oz of rubbing alcohol in a mini-mister bottle (available in the cosmetic section of any department store) and then dropping in about 8 drops of Champaign Mist Shimmer Paint (this is about 4 times more than I usually use and let me tell you, it is sparkly!). Dasher is stamped with Versamark Ink and then embossed with Silver Embossing Powder and the Heat tool.
Here's the details:
- Layer One -- Card Base of Basic Black cut at 5.5 x 8.5", scored and folded in half.
Layer Two -- Not Quite Navy cut at 5.25 x 4" -- spritzed with the shimmer spray and embossed with the Impressions Folder
- Layer Three -- Basic Black cut at 2 x 4" -- apply the ribbon across and attach on the back with SNAIL adhesive. I cinched up the ribbon with some Silver Metallic Cord and then applied the Filigree Designer Brad and a clear Rhinestone Brad.
- Layer Four -- 1 3/4" Circle Punchie of Brushed Silver
- Layer Five -- Brushed Silver Cardstock cut at 2.25 x 3.25"
- Layer Six -- Basic Black cut at 2 x 3" -- use the Embossing Buddy before stamping the image with Versamark and embossing with Silver embossing Powder
- Layer Seven -- I cut a banner approximately 3/4" x 3" and stamped the sentiment from Four the Holiday in Black Stazon Ink. Curve it slightly around your fingers and attach with Stampin' Dimensionals.
That's it for this one. I hope you have fun with this sketch. Don't forget to see what the other Stamping 411 Operators have been up to and when you're ready, come back and leave your name and post address with Mister Linky to be entered into this week's challenge!
We've offering some blog candy this weekend as well on Stamping 411 -- just leave us a comment, letting us know what you like best about our site and ideas of what you would like to see. We're having a great time reading your suggestions and feedback!
Thanks for looking, everyone! Come back and visit soon, please!
I love how the circle element here, looks like a moon in the night sky. Terrific colors. Gorgeous design.
