Hello everyone and Happy Friday to you! I think I've found my new favorite color combination (at least for today) -- Blackberry Bliss and Marina Mist. Not only do they rhyme (kinda), they are gorgeous together -- especially when you stamp off the darker saturation and use the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th stamping. When you do this with the Blackberry Bliss, you get the most delicious shade of purple and, as you might know, purple is my favorite color!
I was inspired to do this card by one that Sandi MacIver did a few weeks ago. I think it's just beautiful in its simplicity.
I made this card specifically with someone special in mind and so wanted to find just the right sentiment. After selecting Pursuit of Happiness and stamping the card, I realized this set retired in May (now how did it get back on my current shelf -- and just when I thought I was being so organized). Sigh ... sorry about that! But I think you'll agree, this card would work well with just about any sentiment -- retired or not!
Other stamp sets used include Work of Art and Flowering Flourishes. I inked up the stamp with Blackberry Bliss ink and stamped it off once on Grid Paper. I then stamped the image 3 times on my card without re-inking the stamp (each stamping gets just a little lighter). I also stamped off the Marina Mist image before stamping it on the card. I then stamped the Flowering Flourishes image using full-strength Marina Mist ink. I added some stragetically placed Rhinestones and viola -- the card is complete. I mounted the Whisper White layer on Blackberry Bliss and used a Marina Mist Card Base.
And then there's a special surprise on the inside of the card -- more stamping with the watercolor "splotches" and another of the fourishes from Flowering Flourishes -- Beautiful! The envelope liner was created with a bit of Park Lane Designer Series Paper.
