Elegant, dramatic and sleek are adjectives that come to mind when describing the new Stampin' Up! Urban Oasis Designer Series Paper. Coordinating with the colors of Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Basic Black and Kraft, Urban Oasis DSP is sure to bring a sophisticated touch to all your projects!
Take, for instance, this first card. I began with a base of Basic Black and added a layer of Kiwi Kiss and a 2" strip of the DSP, separated by the luxurious Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla Satin ribbon and bow. The rose outline image from the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set (which coordinates with the DSP) was stamped in Versamark on Basic Black Cardstock and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. This was then mounted on another layer of Basic Black cardstock. I also stamped the rose image in Kiwi Kiss and Basic Black on the inside of the card. Simple ... elegant ... sophisticated is what I think of when I look at this beautiful card!
If my first card was elegant and sophisticated, this next little pocket card brings a bit of understated whimsy to the table. The base is Basic Black with a layer of Baja Breeze which has the two smaller flowers stamped in Basic Black and Baja Breeze. The little pocket (I got this idea from Patty Bennet's blog) was cut with the Big Shot and the Top Note Bigz Die, folding down about 1 1/2" to form a little flap (this also shows off beautifully both
sides of the designer paper). Aren't those polka dots so cute? I secured it to the card base with SNAIL adhesive and tied a bit of 1/4" Basic Black Grosgrain ribbon across the card, adding a little bow in the middle. The sentiment is from Bella Blossoms (still available on the Dormant List). The little tag which tucks in the pocket also
makes this card just plain fun! I achieved the look at the top by punching a 1 3/8" circle and folding it over the edge. I passed a length of 1/4" Basic Black Grosgrain through the hole that I punched and then threaded it up and down through the little flower-shaped Ribbon Pull from the Very Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware set. This makes for a quick and fun way to put the perfect touch at the top of the tag!
I have one more card for you today using this beautiful new DSP! This one is sweet and soft and fresh using only Whisper White and Baja Breeze. I added the beautiful new Whisper White Organza Ribbon and a simple sentiment from the new Hope Happens stamp set. Again, you can see just a peek of the flowers that I stamped on the inside of the card.
