Now I just love it when I can combine two or more challenges with one card or project. It's just such a wise use of time! This week I've combined the Stamping 411 Weekend Sketch Challenge (on the left) and the Utah Divas Inspiration Challenge (on the right). And here's what I came up with:
I love the fall colors in the inspiration piece and immediately thought of the Upsy Daisy silhouette stamp, embossed in black with the color sponged on. I used Ruby Red, More Mustard, Soft Suede and Basic Black. The Designer Series Paper is Night and Day Specialty. Other accessories include 1/4" Basic Black Grosgrain ribbon, the Scallop Border Punch, large oval punch and scallop oval punches, as well as dimensionals, Black Craft Ink, Black Embossing Powder and the Heat tool and sponges.
- Layer One -- Card Base is cut at 5.5 x 8.5", scored and folded in half to make the card base.
- Layer Two -- DSP cut at 4 x 5.25"
- Layer Three -- Ruby Red cut at 2" 5.25" -- punch the bottom edge with the Scallop Border Punch
- Layer Four -- More Mustard, 1.25 x 5.25". Use a length of Basic Black 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon and attach to the back.
- Layer Five -- Ruby Red, 3 x 4"
- Layer Six -- Basic Black, 2.75 x 3.75"
- Layer Seven -- Whisper White, stamp with Black Craft Ink and Black Embossing powder and heat set the embossing. Load each sponge up with color from the ink pad (from bottom to top -- Soft Suede, More Mustard and Ruby Red), and swipe repeatedly until you get the depth of color that you want for each area of the stamped image. Wipe excess ink off the embossed areas with a tissue or paper towel. Layers 5, 6 and 7 are attached together using SNAIL adhesive and then use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere to the card. The sentiment is stamped on More Mustard with Black Stazon Ink, punched out with the Large Oval punch and mounted on a Basic Black Scallop Oval punchie. Tie a faux bow with about 4" of additional ribbon.
That's it for today. This was a fun sketch to work with and opens up all kinds of possibilities for your creativity. Be sure and check out Stamping 411 to see what the other Operators have been up to this week and when you're done with your own Sketch project, come back and leave your link with Mister Linky so we can all enjoy it!
Hope you have a great weekend, everyone! Here in Central Illinois, we're having beautiful fall weather. Wherever you're at, I hope you manage to find some creative time!

your sky is a masterclass! I had never thought of using the Night and Day paper with these colors - but they work beautifully together. I love the way you interpreted the color challenge. Fabulous job. TFS
