Hello everyone! Thursday can only mean one thing at Inspiration in Action -- a new Weekend Sketch Challenge! I do hope you'll play along this weekend. Don't forget to come back here and leave your name and a link to your project so we can all enjoy your creativity! This week's lucky winner will receive a great prize -- a Frankie & Friends Halloween Treat Boxes Kit and Tutorial! That's right. Play along with this week's sketch challenge and I'll be sending one lucky person their own set of Frankie & Friends -- just in time for Halloween!
Here's this week's sketch. Remember, a sketch is only a tool to get your creativity started. You can change it around, rotate it, move elements around and bring your own stamp of creative uniqueness to it. In fact, that's what I'm hoping you do! I really can't wait to see what you create this weekend!
I've got three great projects to share with you. Are you ready?
Here's my first card using this week's sketch. The stamp set is the absolutely beautiful Serene Snowflakes from the Holiday Mini Catalog! I used the flocked paper from the Christmas Cocoa Specialty Designer Series Paper and I embossed
Layer Two with the Finial Press Impressions Folder and the Big Shot. The colors are Old Olive, Real Red and Whisper White (can't get much more traditional than that for Christmas). I used the Scallop Border Punch, Jumbo Snowflake Punch, 3/4" circle and the 1 3/4" Circle Punches, along with the Old Olive Taffeta ribbon from the fabulous Mistletoe Originals Ribbon bundle. The
sentiment is from All Holidays. The lovely half-back pearl from the Pretties Kit is glued on using Crystal Effects. And there's a little Dazzling Diamonds applied to the snowflake punch with a 2-way Glue Pen. And of course, you don't want to ignore the inside of your card. I stamped some little dancing snowflakes on the inside. So, what do you thinK?
For card number Two, I turned the sketch on it's side with this beauty using the Wandering Words Stamp Set and some traditional fall colors -- Chocolate Chip, Real Rust and Very Vanilla. I
embossed the background using the Stampin' Up! Backgrounds I Texturz Plate (diamonds) and the Big Shot. I then sponged all across the embossed design with Chocolate Chip Ink to help bring out the texture and provide some contrast. The Designer Series Paper is Autumn Meadows, punched with the Eyelet Border Punch and tied with some 3/8" Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon. I colored the leaves on the stamp with Real Rust, More Mustard, Summer Sun and Ruby Red
Markers. I used the sentiment from Grateful Greetings and punched it out with the Large Oval Punch, mounting it on a Scallop Oval Punchie. The inside of the card is stamped with the tiny leaf from Autumn Days, again using the markers to color on the rubber before stamping.
I've got one more sample for you today -- this time for a Birthday! I used the bright and festive Pink Flamingo Designer Series Paper and the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set. I glittered up the
balloon and the cupcake frosting with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and the Two-Way Glue Pen. The little glass beads are attached using tiny dots of Crystal Effects. I used the Scallop Border Punch on the edge of the Real Red layer and tied on some 1/4"
Real Red Grosgrain ribbon. It looks quite festive, don't you think? On the inside of the card, I stamped an image in Real Red from the Party Hearty Stamp Set.
Okay -- now it's your turn! I can't wait to see what you create this week. Remember to come back here and leave your name and the direct link to your project with Mister Linky. And one lucky winner will soon have Frankie & Friends coming to your mailbox! Invite your friends to join you -- the more, the merrier! I can't wait to see what you do with this week's Sketch!
The Frankie & Friends Halloween Treat bag Kits are still available. I have several kits made up and waiting for your orders and more can be put together quickly. Orders received by October 20th will definitely arrive to your mailbox in time for Halloween! And of course, you can order the Tutorial anytime! You can order or find out more information on THIS post!
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you'll visit again soon!
