It's time for the first Inspiration in Action Weekend Sketch Challenge of the new year! And do I ever have a fun sketch for you this week. I just love it when the main image is a circular one -- I think it just makes the cards feel so fun and whimsical. It's almost as if circles give you permission to do something that you wouldn't think to do on a card that is all straight lines!
Take this, my first card, for example. I don't think I would have, or could have, done this wit all square images! Isn't this fun! Our little Voila Chef is all decked out to serve up some LOVE! I used Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper along with Real Red, Whisper White and Basic Gray cardstocks. A little Rhinestone Brad adorns his stylish kerchief. I used the Scallop Circle Die and the Big Shot, along with the Circle Scissor Plus, the new Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslet Die, the Full Heart and Heart to Heart Punches and Scallop Trim Border Punch. The ribbon is 5/8" Pretty in Pink Satin. The stamp sets are Voila and Well Scripted!
My second card for this week's Sketch Challenge is another pinkie -- this time Pink and Black. I love the contrast between black and pastels and this is no exception! The circle is a little smaller this time, cut with the Scallop Circle #2 die. I used the new Garden from the Heart stamp set, pink Satin and 3/8" Black Gingham Ribbons and Sherbet Designer Buttons. On the inside, I punched out the label with the Curly Label punch and backed it with the Curly Label Die (Movers & Shapers Die) and some more gingham ribbon. The flowers and bird are colored in with Pretty in Pink and Mellow Moss Stampin' Write Markers.
I do hope you'll try your hand at this week's fun sketch. I would love to see what you create this week with circles! Just be sure to stop back and leave your name and the URL of your project on the Mister Linky Widget below!
Before you go, I invite you to check out the new Inspiration in Action Samplers from the Occasions Mini Catalog -- you can purchase DSP samples, ribbon samples and samples of some of the most exciting new embellishments from the occasions Mini catalog. Click HERE for more information!
Gretchen, you just have such a way with cards, Girl! Both of these samples, so different in the emotion they evoke, are equally superb! You are such an inspiration to me, and I give you my heartfelt admiration and thanks!

Super cards and wonderful examples of your sketch! I love how you can interpret them and that you take the time to explain and show what you've created. Looking forward to participating.

How beautiful all your work is on all projects. The Not your childs valentine is sooo outstanding. I'm waiting every hour on your steps to make these 2 projects.. I would like to make them for a valentines workshop that my daughter is hosting for me. The card and the heart card box will be a definite "WOW" at her
hostess show. I am a definite fan of yours and will be looking in everyday from now on. Thank you for your inspiration.
