Hello everyone! I do have an Inspiration in Action Weekend Sketch Challenge this week. It's a little late, I know, but it's been one of THOSE weeks! I think you know what I mean!
I do hope you'll consider playing along! There's nothing better to jump-start your MoJo than working from a fun sketch.
It's easy to do -- once you've finished your creation, just come back and leave your name and the URL address of your project on the Mister Linky widget below! Then we can all admire your work!
Enough said! Here's my first card for this week's challenge! Don't you just love the new Vintage Vogue Stamp set? It's so delicate and feminine. I've paired it here with some unlikely colors -- Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie! I used DSP from the new Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack (what a great deal). The floral "papers"
were created by me using images from the Stamp Set and then sponging in color to fill in the background. This is my most favorite current technique -- I just love the look of this. The sentiment is the SAB set (that means you get it for FREE) called Whimsical Words, stamped with Black Stazon Ink. The ribbon is 5/8" Old Olive
Satin (of course) and I created the punched frame with the Scallop Trim Border and Corner Punches. You can view my tutorial on how to do this HERE. I tied the little Playground Designer Button on with a bit of Linen Thread. And of course, there's some stamping on the inside of the card to make it special as well. What do you think?
I have one more sample to share with you today and then I'm going to turn you loose to make
your own creations! As you can see, this is a totally different look but the same sketch. I love how that happens. I've again used the Sweet Pea DSP Stack and I embossed the background layer using the Finial Press Impressions Folder and the Big Shot. The stamp set is Wings of Friendship, a beautiful Level 2 Hostess set. The ribbon is 5/8" Black Satin (so beautiful). For a tutorial on how to tie the bows that I've used on these cards, see THIS POST. I embossed the bird on
Whisper White cardstock using Black Craft Ink and Black Embossing Powder and then stamped the flowers on Bermuda Bay Cardstock, cutting them out and attaching them with Black Brads. You can see the stamping on the inside peeking out!
Okay -- now it's your turn. Just leave your name and the URL location of your project with Mister Linky below!
Do You Want all the DSP, Ribbons and Embellishments from the New Occasions Mini Catalog? I am currently taking orders for Samplers of new Designer Series Papers, Ribbons and Embellishments from this great new catalog? Receive a 10% discount when you order all three samplers. You'll find all the information Here! I will order supplies for this next batch of samplers on Friday and will ship them out to you by the Friday after that!
Kits are still available for the Love Express Valentine Train! All remaining orders will be shipping out this week so there's plenty of time to order and make this adorable project before
Valentine's Day. You can purchase the full kit or the Tutorial. Either way, this little train is just toot-toot cute and a must-have for Valentine's. Information and ordering details are HERE!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I do hope you'll come back often for more inspiration and ideas!
