Happy Saturday morning, everyone! The Operators at Stamping 411 have a new Sketch challenge for you this week -- it's SSC147!
Look at this beautiful sketch that Selene has prepared for you this week. What fun as you layer together different papers, patterns, textures and images! We can't wait to see what you create this week!
And speaking of creating, here is what I put together with a little Sneak Peek at some of the new items which will be available in the Summer Mini Catalog beginning May 1st! I've used a beautiful new stamp set called Elements of Style and some really cool resist paper called Presto Patterns Specialty Designer Series Paper that is already embossed and allows you to rub or roll on your own color to make your own customer paper -- how cool is that!
The colors that I choose are Soft Suede and Bermuda Bay along with Whisper White. Accessories include the Big Shot and the Finial Press Impressions Folder, 1/2" Polka Dot Grosgrain ribbon and Stampin' Dimensionals, along with Clear Embossing Powder, Glossy White Cardstock and the Heat Tool.
Okay, how for the dimensions:
- Layer One -- cardbase cut of Soft Suede at 5.5 x 8.5", score in the middle and fold to make card.
- Layer Two -- Presto Patterns Specialty DSP cut at 4 x 5.25" -- I rubbed on both my colors with a Stamping sponge. I applied the ribbon about 1/3 down on the page.
- Layer Three -- Bermuda Bay cut at 3 1/2" square. Use your Corner Rounder Punch to round just the bottom left edge.
- Layer Four -- Whisper White Cardstock cut at 3 1/4" square. I stamped the floral image with Soft Suede ink and sponged some color on. Round the bottom corner.
- Layer Five -- Bermuda Bay cut at 1 1/2 x 3 1/2" -- emboss with the Big Shot. Round the bottom corner with the Corner Rounder Punch.
- Layer Six -- I stamped the bird on Glossy White Cardstock (I don't have Bermuda Bay Craft Ink and if you use Glossy White, the Classic ink will stay wet long enough that you can emboss it). I sprinkled on Clear Embossing Powder and set it with the Heat Tool. Attach with Stampin' Dimensionals and attach your bow!
- Layer Seven -- don't forget the inside of the card! I stamped the flourish on Whisper White Cardstock cut at 4 x 5.25" and then added the sentiment, punching it out and mounting it with the Large Oval and Scallop Oval punches! Beautiful!
That's it! Don't forget to skip on over to Stamping 411 and check out what the other Operators have created this week. You won't be sorry you did! Play along with the challenge this week if you can! You'll find all the details at Stamping 411.
Thanks so much for looking and Happy Stamping!
I love this card, nice colors and layout. I also finished the giggles setI ordered from you, and what a hit they were when I gave them to my friend that has five small grandkids for Easter.
Thanks,
