Hello every and welcome to a new Saturday Sketch Challenge from the Stamping 411 Operators.
Today's sketch is a little more challenging than some we offer because it has more layers. But don't be afraid to try it. You just may like it!
I've totally fallen in love with most of the new Designer Series Papers from Stampin' UP!, including the one I used today, Sweet and Sour Specialty Designer Series Paper. It uses a delightful color combination of Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red and Very Vanilla and one side of each of the double-sided papers has a glossy embossed-like finish. It's so cool!
For today's card I used the new "A word for You" stamp set along with an old favorite, Tart & Tangy (humm .... Tart & Tangy and Sweet & Sour). I also used the fabulous new Dotted Scallop ribbon Border Punch -- it's almost like making your own ribbon, the Scallop border Punch and one of the new designer buttons in Pumpkin Pie. The new buttons are so beautiful, they look like candy! I also did some embossing with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions folder and the Big Shot.
Okay, ready for some measurements ...
- Layer One -- card base cut of Rose Red cardstock at 5.5 x 8.5", scored and folded in half
- Layer Two -- DSP (don't you love this dotted pattern) cut at 3.5 x 5.5"
- Layer three -- Pumpkin Pie Cardstock cut at 2.25 x 5.5". I used the border punch on both long edges and then ran it through the Big Shot to emboss.
- Layer Four -- Rose Red 3" Square
- Layer Five -- Pumpkin Pie 2.75" square
- Layer Six -- Very Vanilla 1.5 x 2.5". Stamp on this layer.
Layer Seven -- one strip cut with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon border Punch and 2.75" long. Tie on a button using Linen Thread.
- Layer Eight -- Inside of Card cut of Very Vanilla at 4 x 5.25". I stamped another little cherry stem using Old Olive and rose Red markers in the corner.
There you go -- that's it! Stop back tomorrow for more projects using the Sweet & Sour Designer Series Paper!
And don't forget to stop by Stamping 411 to see what the other operators have been up to this week and to leave a link to your own projects!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Love all of the new goodies you've used on this card :) It's so pretty!

As usual, it is so hard to appreciate the DSPs until you still them in person! Beautiful card, Gretchen...now I want that DSP, too!
