Hello everyone! I'm just loving this new Sweet & Sour Specialty Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! The colors are so gorgeous together! And I though it would work especially well for this week's MoJo Monday sketch (even if it is Thursday -- he, he).
Look at all the texture and interesting things on this card! I used Pumpkin Pie and Rose Red cardstocks, along with Whisper white. The ink is all Rose Red.
Are you wondering how I got those interesting "scallops" bottom and top? I actually used the negative cut from the new Big Shot Tasteful Trims Bigz X Large Die which will be available for purchase beginning September 1st in the Holiday Mini Catalog. WOW!!! It's amazing!!! When I first saw this die in the mini, I was skeptical, at best. But now that I've got it in=hand and can play with it, it is truly amazing. It will cut 12" long strips (if you use 12" paper) of 4 different trim shapes -- a Jumbo Scallop, a Jumbo Ric Rac, a cool little "bubble"trim and a small zig zag. Click on the photo above to view it larger. It will be great for using up those 1" strips of cardstock that I always have laying around and you can even cut continuous strips of fabric in the die to use as embellishments on just about anything -- clothing, toys, quilts, pillows ... wherever your imagination will take you.
Anyway, back to the card -- LOL. I used the negative strips that were left after cutting out the Jumbo Ric Rac shape. Cool, eh? I used the Square Lattice Impressions Folder for the texture on the Rose Red top layer. The Sentiment is from Watercolor Trio and I used the Scallop Circle stamp from Perfect Punches (I covered up the Christmas greeting with my Birthday Greeting). I'm out of Pumpkin Pie Satin ribbon so I improvised by using two strips of 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon. The Scallop Circle is popped-up with Stampin' Dimensionals and I sponged Rose Red Ink on the edges of EVERYTHING!
Well, that's it for now! If you didn't see my post from last night, I'm now selling kits for the Test Tube Gift Card Holder. Click HERE for all the details and to place an order! They're going like hotcakes!
Stop back soon for more inspiration! I love it when you visit!
What an interesting card. Love the square texture on the rectangle over the circles on the DSP. Awesome!!
