Hello everyone and welcome to Saturday Sketch Challenge #169 from the Stamping 411 Operators! Look at this fabulous sketch that Selene has created for us today!
I originally designed my card to be just like the one in the sketch and then when I was all done, it just didn't seem quite right so I rotated it 90 degrees to the right and changed the sentiment orientation to make this a landscape card.
Are you loving these two colors together -- Baja Breeze and Real Red (with just a bit of Whisper White). Cool, eh? The Designer Series Paper (check out the awesome glittery polka dots) is Candy Cane Christmas Specialty DSP from the Holiday Mini. You guessed it ... it's not just for Christmas! I also used the Big Shot and the Square Lattice Impressions Folder, the Eyelet Border Punch, the Lots of Tags Sizzlet Set, the Wide Oval Punch and some of those fabulous new Glimmer Brads (also from the Holiday Mini). What a fun and happy birthday card!
Here's the details:
- Layer One -- Real Red Cardstock cut at 5.5 x 8.5", scored and folded to make the Card Base.
- Layer Two -- Baja Breeze cut at 4 x 5.25". Embossed on the Big Shot. Apply 3 Glimmer Brads in the corner.
Layer Three -- Real Red cut at 4 x 1.5" -- punch the edge with the Eyelet Border Punch
- Layer Four -- Baja Breeze cut at 4 x 1" -- punch the edge with the Eyelet Border Punch.
- Layer Five -- DSP cut at 4 x 2". Apply to embossed layer with SNAIL adhesive -- arrange the eyelet punched pieces beside the DSP and apply ribbon over the "seam" attaching to the back with SNAIL.
- Layer Six -- Stamp the sentiment (from Perfect Punches) on Whisper White cardstock scrap and punch out with the Wide Oval Punch. Apply to tag die cut with SNAIL and attach to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
That's it -- a really quick and really fun birthday card created with some serious bling!
I do hope you'll visit the Stamping 411 blog to see what the other operators have created this week. And once you've completed your own creation with this week's sketch, come back and leave your link with the linking tool on the Stamping 411 post.
That will do it for now. Have a great weekend, everyone ... and Happy Stamping!
