Hello everyone! It's time for another Saturday Sketch Challenge from all the Stamping 411 Operators! I'm especially excited this week because I have the privilege of designing this week's sketch. So, be nice to me ... tell me how much you love it and play along with us this week! It's so much fun!
Click on the small sketch above to view a larger image. This is a pretty straightforward sketch -- simple enough for everyone to play along and yet it leaves lots of room for leeway and embellishment, if that is what you choose to do.
I have a fun card for you this week with the Stampin' Up! Build-A-Bear Workshop stamps. I've used the original Beary Best Friends paired with the new (from the Holiday Mini Catalog) Season of Hugs. The Designer Series Paper is Wicked Fun Specialty Paper. Other supplies and embellishments include the Big Shot, the Spider Web Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Raven 1/2" Lace Trim. Glimmer In-Color Brads, the Bitty Bat Large Punch, the Scallop Trim Border Punch, 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Old Olive and Stampin' Dimensionals. Whew ... that's a lot of product!!!!
Okay, let's walk through it step by step:
- Layer One -- Card Base -- Pear Pizzazz cut at 5.5 x 8.5", scored and folded in half
- Layer Two -- Basic Black cut at 4 x 5.25". Run through the Big Shot and emboss with the Embossing Folder. Lightly sponge Whisper White Craft Ink over the top to bring out the embossed web.
- Layer Three -- Pear Pizzazz cut at 1.75 x 5.25". Punch the bottom edge with the Border Punch.
- Layer Four -- DSP cut at 1.5 x 5.25". Adhere layers three and four to layer two and run a length of the lace trim across the "seam", attaching to the back with SNAIL adhesive.
- Layer Five -- Pumpkin Pie cardstock cut at 2.5 x 3"
- Layer Six -- Rich Razzleberry cut at 2.25 x 2.75"
Layer Seven -- Whisper White cut at 2 x 2.5". Stamp the bear image using Black Stazon Ink and color in with Stampin' Write Markers. Stamp the treat pail and hat on a scrap of Whisper White, color in and attach to the card. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the hat. Wrap a bit of 1/8" Taffeta ribbon around the hat and tie on the front, trimming ends. Attach the entire assembly to the card using Stampin' dimensionals.
- Layer Eight -- Punch a Bat out of DSP, make folds in wings and attach with a Stampin' Dimensional. To tie the lace bow, I wrapped the lace around 2 fingers three times (to make 3 loops), and then fastened in the middle with the Glimmer Brad. Spread the loops apart and trim ends. Attach to the Card with a Pop Up Gglue Dot.
Layer Nine - Inside of Card -- Whisper White cut at 4 x 5.25". I embellished the corner by stamping the sentiment on a scrap of Whisper White, punching out with the Modern Label Punch and sponging the edges with Rich Razzleberry Ink. I added a punched-out bat from Basic Black, adding two tiny dot "eyes" with a White Signo Gel Pen.
Well, I think that will do it for this card. It was so much fun to make and I know one little girl who will go crazy over it come Halloween time!
I do hope you'll take some time to pop on over to the Stamping 411 Blog and see what the other Operators have created this week. Their work is AMAZING! And speaking of amazing, we're looking forward to seeing your AMAZING work once you give us a link to your creations using this week's sketch!
Have fun and Happy Stamping!
