Hello everyone and welcome to a new Color Challenge at Utah Diva's International! Look at the inspiration for this week's color challenge ... this marvelous winter set! And the colors are ... Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Perfect Plumb, Night of Navy and Baja Breeze.
WOW -- that's a lot of color, right? Well, yes, but it's beautiful color! And the purpose of a color challenge is to help you break out of your normal routine and try something new!
so are you ready to see what I created with all this color?
Will I make a "believer" our of you?
Look at this! I'm thrilled with the way this card turned out. I used the "Just Believe" stamp set (see, I told you I would make a believer out of you).
I sponged lots of that wonderful color onto Whisper White Cardstock so that it almost looks like sky (that wasn't really my intent but I think it turned out so cool!) and then stamped the major, large focal image in Night of Navy Ink over the background. I added self-adhesive Basic Pearls to the flowers and butterfly. The butterfly was created with the Beautiful Wings Embosslet and the Big Shot. And do you see how I created the antennae? Two rows of those Basic Pearls -- how cool is that?
The sentiment was punched out with the Extra Large Decorative Label Punch and then outlined with additional punched images. See HERE for a quick tutorial on how to do this.
I punched a border with the Scallop Trim Punch and a little strip of Baja Breeze cardstock and added some scrumptious Night of Navy 5/8" Satin Ribbon. I stamped some foliage on the inside, again using three different colors of ink. Love the way this turned out as well!
So what do you think? Did I make a believer out of you?
