Good morning -- Happy Saturday and Happy New Year! WOW ... 2011! Where did 2010 go? I certainly don't know!
As I post this, I'm working on no sleep this morning. Not that I was out partying all night ... but my daughter had her annual Birthday/New Year's Eve Sleepover last night with some of her best buddies. I really can't for the life of me imagine why these things are called "sleepover's" since no sleeping was had by anyone in the house! So you can only guess how we'll be spending most of this first day of the new year!
Anyway, I will recover eventually, right? I did have time to create this week's card for you using some of the wonderful new Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Mini catalog called Springtime Vintage. Aren't the images just darling -- so delicate and sweet!
The cardstock colors are Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla. I used the Elements of Style Stamp Set and the Eyelet Border Punch, 1" and 1.25" Circle Punches. The hummingbird is stamped with Versamark and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and then mounted with Stampin' Dimensionals. A bit of Linen Thread is tied through the tag.
Here's the Measurements:
- Layer One -- Cardbase cut of Not Quite Navy at 5.5 x 8.5", scored and folded to make the card base
- Layer Two -- DSP (2 patterns) cut at 2 x 4". Attach both patterns to Cardbase.
- Layer Three -- Not Quite Navy cut at 1.75 x 4". Punch one edge with Border Punch.
- Layer Four -- Very Vanilla cut at 1.5 x 4"
Layer Five -- Not Quite Navy cut at 2.25 x 3.25"
- Layer Six -- Very Vanilla cut at 2 x 3" -- Stamp image
- Layer Seven -- Bird and Tag -- Cut out or punch out and mount on Stampin' Dimensionals
- Inside of Card -- Very Vanilla cut at 4 x 5.25". Stamp fourish on one corner.
Be sure and check out all the fabulous projects that the other Stamping 411Operators have created for your inspiration this week! What an amazing group of women! I'm am so privileged to be a part of this endeavor with them!
Now, as you may recall, we had a little contest last week for some fabulous Blog Candy. Each of the Operators was offering something special to a randomly selected person who posted a comment on our blog post last week. WOW -- what fun it was to read all your comments. You all overwhelmed me with the things you said. I am truly blessed and I thank you, each and every one, for visiting my blog and for leaving your comments. Thank you, one and all! A total of 172 comments were left on last week's post. And the winner is ...
Number 157 was randomly selected by my daughter, the Birthday Girl! Congratulations to Marsha E. who wins the great prize package pictured here. Marsha writes, "Love your work. Thanks for the tutorials & the details your provide - even to the point of showing the finished inside of the cards. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year". Thank you Marsha -- Please e-mail me with your address and I'll get this in the mail to you toot-sweet!
That will do it for now. Sleep is calling my name -- LOL! Happy New Year, everyone! Here's to a great new year of stamping inspiration!

Wow Gretchen I just LOVE your hummingbird card! The colours are just beautiful, and I adore the flourish you have used. Hummingbirds seem particularly popular at the moment!
