Ah yes, Inspiration is truly EVERYWHERE if we just open our eyes to see it! I love it when I find something while shopping or surfing that catches my eye and makes me want to recreate it in paper and ink. I'll admit it -- I'm a visual person and am largely influenced by the way things look (it does get me in trouble sometimes). I'm attracted by colors and texures and the ways they work together.
And so it didn't surprise me when I received this delicious set of Bath & Body Works products recently and knew that I had to use them as inspiration for a special card.
Of course it doesn't hurt that my very favorite colors in the world are blues and purples and when they're combined ... well ... it simply makes me melt. It's hard to see in this photo, but these bottles also have splotches of silver in them. They are beautiful to look at and they smell pretty darn good too!
And so this morning I thought it was time to take out my paper and stamps and ink and recreate this look in the form of a greeting card! There's a lot of sparkle and bling here so it was a little difficult to get photos that didn't reflect all that beautiful light. I hope my photos do it justice!
I used the Work of Art, Flower Shop and Bloom for You stamp sets. The two-tone flowers were inked up with Pool Party ink and I sponged a little Elegant Eggplant on the edges of the petals with a Sponge Daubber.
For the background of the card, I stamped some of the "splotches" from the Work of Art Stamp set with Versamark Ink and embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. I then sponged on three colors of ink (Elegant Eggplant, Coastal Cabana and Marina Mist) in a random pattern. I used Silver Metallic Cardstock for the mat and added some of the scrumptious new Silver Satin Ribbon and a bow.
The sentiment is punched out with the Artisan Label punch and a second punchie in Silver metcalic form a mat.
And to make an already special card even more special, I fancied up the inside as well with a drawn outline and one of the stamps from Flowering Flourishes!
So what do you think? Did I do a good job recreating the look and feel of my inspiration pieces?

Great Job! Very classy looking!
I get my inspiration from magazine pictures. I have done several cards using them. I also love the paint/color combos from decorating magazines too!
