I'm loving the All is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper. What a perfect name for this beautiful paper which comes in the soft hues of Lost Lagoon, Pear Pizzazz, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky and Whisper White. If you close your eyes, you can just imagine snow capped trees on a crisp winter morning when everything is quiet and peaceful!
I combined this beautiful paper and color combination with the stamp sets Bright and Beautiful (the sentiment) and Festival of Trees. The trees and sentiment are stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder (don't forget to use your Embosing Buddy!).
And I created this beautiful star border with one of my favorite new punches from the Holiday Catalog -- the Confetti Star Punch. Oh my .... this punch is amazing. It makes a beautiful border (lined on this card with Silver Foiled Card Stock) but also creates tones of tiny star confetti. Put those scraps in a jar and just think of all the opportunities you can use them for in the future. How fun (alright, a little messy as well ... but fun, none the less).
Other things to note on this card:
The trees are punched out with the new Tree Punch
The ribbon is Lost Lagoon 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon from the Holiday Catalog
I used the Confetti Stars Punch to punch another border on the inside of the card
I think that will do it for today. I hope you have a great weekend and find some time to be creative! Please stop by again for more ideas and inspiration!

Oh my ... with a heat index in Central Illinois today of near 100 degrees, it's going to be a little difficult to think about Christmas but then again ... maybe this is the best way to cool off on a hot, hot day!
As soon as I cracked open (no pun indended -- LOL) the new Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog, I was in love with this stamp set called "Santa Stache" -- I mean, how cute is this!
As you can see, the set actually has two images ... a santa and a nutcracker. The mustache for both coordinates with the Mustache Framelit Die. I think both these images will be adorable for gift tags, cards, scrapbooks ... just about everything!
For my card today, I actually mounted the nutcracker on a Gold Foil Tag and then attached it to a card. I loved highlighting the trim accents on the nutcracker with Gold Stampin' Dazzle Marker which coordinates perfectly wih the Gold Foil Cardstock. Add some gold ribbon, a few Basic Rhinestones and a little sparkle on the mustache with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and you have a Nutcracker Soldier fit for a queen!
Other things to note on this card: I created the Gold tag (cut cardstock at 2 x 4") using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch;
I colored in the Nutcracker with Blendabilities;
and I created the "candy cane" border with the Chevron Border Punch!
Cool, eh? See, I knew this card would help us feel a little cooler on a hot day! Okay, I'm off now to make some snow in the Ninja ... brrrrr!!!

Hello everyone and welcome to the Control Freaks November Blog Tour! This month is all about Christmas!
If you're arriving here before 8 pm, some links may not be working yet! Please come back in just a bit if you run into a road block! If you've already begun the tour, then you must be arriving from the blog of LeeAnn Greff. She had some amazing projects for us!
I decided to create a gift duo for the tour this month, using the Snow Festival Designer Series Paper. The circular gift box is so fun and really big as well -- it measures 5.5" tall with a diameter of about 4" -- big enough to hold a beautiful scarf, a pair of gloves or even delicious homemade cookies!
We don't want to bog down the tour with extra pictures and details right now but never fear! Come back in a couple of days and I'll post some additional pictures and directions for making this project!
Stamp sets include French Foliage (for the fabulous poinsettia). I used the Big Shot with the Apothacary Accents Framelits and the Window Frame Framelits as well as the Large Scallop Circle Die. The poinsettia leaves are stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Pretty in Pink Cardstock, coated with Versamark and Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and then heat set. They are so sparkly and beautiful in real life! The final embellishments include Basic Pearls and 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon.
That's pretty much it! This project looks a lot more complicated than it really is! Try it ... you'll definitely want to make more than one!
Thanks for much for stopping by! I hope you enjoy the tour and I hope you'll be back soon for more ideas and inspiration!
It's time to move on down the road now to the blog of the always amazing Wendy Weixler (love ya, Wendy!) Just click on the image below and you'll be magically transported to the next stop!
Hello everyone! I have a card chock-full of TEXTURE for you today! It's also a Christmas card which uses a surprising stamp set -- PENNANT PARADE! Now, you would usually think of Pennant Parade for a birthday or celebratory card ... but for CHRISTMAS? Yep, turns out those little pennants, when inverted, make AMAZING Christmas trees. Who would have thunk it?
I included lots of texture on this little card with three different Embossing Folders. Using the Big Shot, I combined the Perfect Polka Dots, Tulip Border and Winter Flurry embossing folders. I just love the suggestion of snow that the Polka Dots add to the trees.
The color combo is a little unconventional for a Christmas card but I love that as well -- Pacific Point and Gumball Green!
The sentiment is from the Curly Cute stamp set. The trees are all stamped, with the exception of the single middle tree which is punched with the coordinating Builder Punch and embossed and then embellished with Basic Rhinestones. Please Note -- it's import to stamp all the images BEFORE you emboss with the Polka Dots.
As you can see, a little stamping on the inside of the card finishes it off perfectly!
And here's the really great news about this card! As part of the Online Extravganza Sale, you can purchase the Pennant Parade Stamp set along with the Coordinating Builder Wheel for an amazing price of just $15.87 (wood mount) or $12.87 (clear mount). WOW -- that's a whopping 40% off the regular price! Click HERE to learn more about the Online Extravaganza Sale!
Stop back tonight after 8 PM to hop on the November ControlFreaks Blog Tour -- it's all about Christmas! See you then!
Hello dear blog followers! I want to thank you for the many e-mails and expressions of concern that I've received from you during my little "blog sabbatical" these past several weeks. Following the end of Stamping 411, I just needed to give myself a little time and space to regroup. What have I discovered in my time away? I've discovered how much I miss stamping and sharing my creations with others. And I've discovered how much I appreciate this online community which has become such an important part of my life over the past years. And so, after some time to think and some honest soul searching, I'm back and I hope to be sharing many creations and conversations with you in the future.
And I'm beginning with this gorgeous (at least I think so) card that I created for a recent "Over the Top" Christmas SWAP! Can you believe that I made 36 of these? I wouldn't recommend it (mainly because each of those little lacy die cut pieces needed to be poked out individually). But it was fun to create something really special to share.
I began by creating the "music" with the Music Notes Standard Wheel. I stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock. I then punched out the circles with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch, layered that on a 2" circle of Eary Espresso Cardstock and then attached it to the Large Delicate Doilies Sizzlet Die Cut out of the Champaign Glitter Paper (wow, is that paper gorgeous).
The Card Base is Cherry Cobbler with a layer of Early Espresso and another of Pretty in Pink. The Pretty in Pink layer is embossed with the Big Shot and the Northern Flurry Folder. The sentiment is from the Rejoicing with You stamp set.
The bird is punched using the Bird Builder punch and Cherry Cobbler cardstock. I inked the edges heavily
with Early Espresso ink to add some contrast and definition and added a Basic Pearl Eye. The double bow is tied with Cherry Cobbler Seam Tape Ribbon.
Again, thank you so much for hanging in there with me. I do hope you'll come back soon for more ideas and inspiration!
Hello everyone and welcome to a new Saturday Sketch Challenge from the Stamping 411 Operators!
My inspiration card week uses new DSP and stamps from the new 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog!
I know it's probably a little early for Christmas cards (well, maybe not so much) but I just couldn't wait to tear into this beautiful Christmas Designer Series Paper called Be of Good Cheer. The stamp set, which coordinates, is Chock-Full of Cheer. Isn't it delightful! The colors are Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green and Very Vanilla. The ribbon is the new Stitched Satin in Gumball Green. I stamped the sentiment and another mitten image on the inside of the card.
This sketch is pretty straight-forward, although don't be thrown by the several layers. It's really very easy once you break it down step-by-step. Here's some measurements to get you started:
Layer One -- Gumball Green Cardstock cut to 5.5 x 8.5", scored and folded to make the Card Base.
Layer Two -- DSP cut to 4 x 5.25"
Layer Three -- Gumball Green cardstock cut at 3.5 x 4.5"
Layer Four -- DSP cut at 3 3/8 x 4 3/8"
Layer Five -- Cherry Cobbler cut at 1.5 x 2.75"
Layer Six -- Very Vanilla cut at 1.25 x 2.5" -- stamp images and embellish as desired
Inside of Card -- Very Vanilla cut at 4 x 5.25", stamp as desired.
I think that will do it for tonight! I hope you've got a wonderful weekend planned and hope as well that you include some creative time in the mix of all you have planned! Don't forget to check out the other Stamping 411 Operator projects on the website. I'm so glad you stopped by today and hope you'll come back soon for more ideas and inspiration!
Hello everyone and welcome to a new Saturday Sketch Challenge from the Stamping 411 Operators! Since today is Christmas Eve, I thought it only appropriate to share a Christmas Card with you today!
This beautiful cardinal is from the Stamp set called "Beautiful Season". The sentiment is from Petite Pairs.
I used Whisper White and Always Artichoke Cardstock along with the fabulous Red Glitter Cardstock. The glitzy holly berries are from a new product, Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details (available January 4th in the Occasions Mini Catalog). I stamped the image with Black Stazon Ink on Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 x 3.5" and colored in with Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke Stampin' Write Markers.
I punched the scallop frame with the Scallop Trim Border and Corner Punches. I started with a piece of Whisper White Cardstock that measured 3 13/16 x 4 1/4" inches. Click HEREto see my tutorial on how to create these lacy frames. The Always Artichoke layer attached to the scallop frame measures 3.25 x 3.75".
The ribbon is 3/8" Riding Hood Red Taffeta and I created the tag using the Small and Large Oval Punches along with the Scallop Oval Punch.
That's going to do it for me for today! I do hope you'll have time to stop over at Stamping 411 and see the fabulous projects that the other Operators have created this week! And finally, I wish you all the best this Holiday season and hope that among all the family, feasting and festivities, you might find a few quiet moments in your stamping space!
Thanks for stopping, everyone, and Merry Christmas!
Hello everyone and welcome to a new Saturday Sketch Challenge from the Stamping 411 Operators! I created this card a few weeks ago and have been so excited to show it to you. I'm just thrilled with the way it turned out!
Cherry Cobbler accents combined with that dazzling Silver Glitter Paper make for a beautiful card! The stamp sets are Gifts of Christmas and Four the Holidays. I embossed the dove image using Versamark Ink, Silver Embossing Powder and the Heat Tool. The Big Shot and the Petals A Plenty Textured Embossing Folder created the beautiful background texture. The ribbon is 1/2" Cherry Cobbler Seam Tape. The scallop border was punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. Stampin' Dimensionals were used to attach the Focal Image to the embossed and glittered background. Let me tell you, this card really sparkles in real life. It reminds me of the glistening new fallen snow!
If you want to recreate this card for yourself, here are my measurements:
Layer One -- Cherry Cobbler Cardstock cut at 5.5 x 8.5", scored and folded to make the card base.
Layer Two -- Whisper White cardstock cut at 4 x 5.25" and embossed with the Big Shot and Impressions Folder.
Layer Three -- Cherry Cobbler Cardstock cut at 2.25 x 5.25" -- punch the bottom edge with a border punch.
Layer Four -- Silver Glitter Cardstock cut at 2 x 5.25". Use ribbon across the card to hide the "seam".
Layer Five -- Cherry Cobbler Cardstock cut at 2 5/8 x 3 5/8".
Layer Six -- Whisper White Cardstock cut at 2.5 x 3.5" -- stamp and emboss. The sentiment flag is 1/2" wide and I trimmed the points with Paper Snips. The bow is attached with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Inside of Card -- Whisper White cardstock cut at 4 x 5.25". Trimmed with Cherry Cobbler Border Punch strip, glitter cardstock and Seam Tape Ribbon.
I'm so glad that you stopped by today and hope that I inspired you with a bit of glitter and sparkle! Don't forget to check out the other Operator cards over at Stamping 411! I hope you have a great weekend and don't forget to find some time to stamp! Thanks again ...
Hello everyone! I've got another card for you today, created with the lovely set from the Holiday Mini Catalog called Pines & Poinsettias! This stamp set coordinates beautifully with the Holly Berry Bouquet Speciality Designer Series Paper. For a little twist on the traditional, I pulled the pink color out of the DSP and love the way this card turned out!
This is a quick and easy card and would be the perfect choice if you are still trying to crank out several hand-made cards for Christmas. The lovely pleated 5/8" Satin Ribbon adds a perfect elegant touch.
Supplies used include: Pines & Poinsettias Stamp Set, Holly Berry Bouquet Specialty Designer Series Paper, 5/8" Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Decorative Label Punch, Stampin' Write Markers (Chocolate Chip, Garden Green and Pretty in Pink), and Stampin' Dimensionals. The cardstock colors are Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White.
Stamping the pretty little pine cone image on the inside of the card adds a lovely surprise when you open it up!
That's it for now but you'll want to stop by tonight. I've got a very special card to share with you for this week's Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge! Hope to see you back soon!
