I've got three fabulous projects for you today, each one using products from the Oh Sew Suite! I've created a card, a diaper-fold pouch and a journal/notebook!
This darling little Diaper-fold pouch is sew cute! I was inspired by THIS ONE that my roommate, Nola, gave me at last week's Leadership Conference! Thanks, Nola ... for the pouch and the inspiration! I created the pouch by starting with a 10" square of DSP. This is a great project to show off both of the prints on our double-sided Designer Series Papers! I folded the square in half, diagonally (so you have a triangle with the fold on the bottom), and then folded in the right and left hand sides to the center. Fold down the front flap and there you have a diaper-fold pouch. I secured mine with Sticky Strip adhesive just to make sure the folds were secure. I embellished the pouch with Pom-Pom trim, a BIG button and a bit of ribbon. The ribbon loop on the top is made with 5/8" Satin ribbon inserted through a Jumbo Eyelet. Inside the pouch is a cello bag filled with those fabulous, BIG Buttons and tied with a bit more pom-pom trim. What an easy and delightful gift to give to someone special!
Next in my Sew Suite lineup is a quick and simple card! I began with a piece of Melon Mambo Textured Cardstock cut at 4.25 x 11" (1/2 a sheet) and folded it to make a top-fold card. I trimmed 1/2" from the front of the cardstock and punched a border with the Eyelet Border Punch. Adhere a 4" square of DSP to the front and add some ribbon with a tie.
The tag is created with the Punch Bunch Stamp Set (a Sale-a-Bration FREE set -- available beginning January 25th). I used the Scallop Circle Punch and the 1 3/8" Circle punches and added some buttons over the stamped flowers to keep with the sewing theme.
This card is quick, easy and cute! A definite winner!
And last, but not least, is this fabulous notebook/journal. This project took a little more time but isn't it worth it? It makes an extra-special gift for an extra-special person!
To create the notebook, begin with a mini legal pad (mine measured 5 x8"). I began with Melon Mambo Cardstock cut at 8 x 11". Score at 4.5", 9.5", and 9.75". Cut a diagonal line from the left-hand-side to the 4.5" score line (this will form your pocket on the inside of the front cover of your notebook). Decorate and embellish as you desire. Secure the inside front flap with Sticky Strip Adhesive and attach to your mini legal pad with 2 lines of Sticky Strip on the back flap which measures 1.75". See the diagram below!
I covered the front of the notebook with two different DSP patterns and added a strip of Very Vanilla punched with the Eyelet Border Punch. I then embellished the front of the notebook by cutting Melon Mambo and Very Vanilla cardstocks using the Scallop Oval Die and the Big Shot. I applied a "ruffle" of fabric using Sticky Strip Adhesive. I made two Yo-Yo's with fabric, cutting them first with the Scallop Circle Die (you simply hand-baste around the edge of the circle and then pull the ends to cinch them up, making a circle). Final embellshments include BIG buttons and Fabric-covered brads, all available in the Oh Sew Suite collection! The sentiment on the front of my notebook is from Herb Expressions.
I just love my Oh Sew Suite gift set and think I'm going to need to make another one because I've decided to keep this one for myself!
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you've been inspired to create your own Oh Sew Suite projects! Send me a photo -- I would love to see what you make!
